Re-opening the hospitality and leisure sector in Stockport

Webinar discussing the re-opening of the hospitality and leisure sector safely inline with the proposed government dates.

‘Reopening of hospitality and leisure businesses – how to reopen safely and in line with Government restrictions and guidance.’
From April 12th, non-essential retail businesses and hospitality venues may be allowed to reopen.  Pubs, bars, restaurants and cafés will be allowed to serve people outdoors. There will be no need for customers to order a substantial meal with alcoholic drinks and no curfew, although customers must order, eat and drink while seated (‘table service’).
Wider social contact rules will apply in all these settings to prevent indoor mixing between different households.

To help and support Stockport hospitality and leisure businesses to reopen safely, Stockport Council are hosting a free virtual workshop and advice clinic where businesses will also be able to share any concerns and ask questions.

Presentations & discussions included:

  • Covid in Stockport – what’s the current position?
  • Reopening of hospitality and leisure businesses – how can businesses open safely, meet government guidance and give us all the best chance of beating Covid once and for all?
  • How can businesses and the council help each other?

Guest speakers include:
Jen Connolly, Director of Public Health in Stockport;
Mark Glynn, Director of Place Management;
