Fully funded by European Social Fund, the Skills for Growth Team and In Step UK have been commissioned to deliver the Lean Manufacturing & Lean Management skills courses as part of the Skills for Growth Programme.
The manufacturing sector in Greater Manchester accounts for up to 10% of the workforce population. A percentage of delivery will focus on minority groups, over 50s, women in manufacturing and BAME.
Both large businesses and small and medium enterprises (SME’s) can benefit from the courses, which go live immediately
The Lean Manufacturing programme supports the need to up-skill core frontline staff who work within manufacturing & production industries equivalent and is designed to support the reduction of waste, enable cost-saving implementation, improve productivity, give an understanding of the need for continuous improvement and application of problem- solving techniques. Spread over 5 modules, blended learning will comprise 3-hour workshops, e-learning and post work activities.
The Lean Management Manufacturing Programme supports the need to up-skill & enable managers or aspiring managers within manufacturing environments to deliver measurable outcomes. The course focusses on sector specific skills and greater understanding of
the management challenges that are unique to the sector and production environments. The trainees will learn key management practices and techniques that can be used to support development, growth and increased performance within teams.
Broken into 8 modules, the course will also use blended learning comprising 3-hour workshops, e-learning and post work activities.
