This recently launched support for SME’s is a £7m programme, commissioned by Greater Manchester Combined Authority, is part of a wider Skills for Growth investment. The support for SME’s, being delivered by the Business Growth Hub in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, will help businesses with three key stages to:
· Access a consultation service to assess current skills and productivity
· Develop a Productivity & Skills Plan
· Implement Productivity & Skills development (including access to skills providers)
The ethos of the service is about both developing the business and the employees, with a health and wellbeing a key element.
Growth Company for the Skills Support for the Workforce scheme provides skills analysis, bespoke training plans and implementation of funded training to employers in Greater Manchester to up-skill staff to various Levels. As well as bespoke training to respond to skills gaps analysis, the Skills Support for the Workforce contract also provides support where businesses are having to make redundancies, supporting employees with developing their employability skills, to help find alternative employment.
Skills Support for the Workforce is commissioned and funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency, working in partnership with Greater Manchester LEP.
